Who We Are

Founded by a multidisciplinary team of engineers and analysts from The Claremont Colleges and Stanford University, we represent a new generation of researchers built for a new era of energy infrastructure. As the rise of Artificial Intelligence drives an unprecedented surge in power demand—from gigawatt-scale data centers to grid modernization—the old models of energy analysis are breaking down. Legacy firms rely on historical data; we rely on first-principles thinking.

We saw a market flooded with capital but blinded by complexity. Investors were deploying billions into the energy transition while relying on generalist reports that missed the granular reality of NRC licensing bottlenecks or battery thermal limits.

So, we built the solution we couldn't find.

We are Derrick Guardado (Market Strategy), Fernando Castaneda (Operations & Regulation), Dylan Mong (Financial Modeling), and Andrew Janigian (Material Science), and Marlon Hernandez (Physics). We are digitally native, thesis-driven, and obsessed with the intersection of physics, chemistry, policy, and profit. We don't have 20 years of bad habits—we have the agility to track a rapidly evolving world where AI meets the electron, and where molecular reality defines market success.

We are Catalyst. And we are here to de-risk the future.

We saw investors betting billions on technologies they didn't fully understand. We exist to close that gap.
